Photographer, filmmaker, and what the Germans would call a Story-Maus.
I'm based in Berlin, but my camera has taken me to Dublin, London, Sofia, New York and everywhere in between. I photograph people as they actually are — not posed, not performed. The moment just before the smile breaks, the way someone looks at their dog, the quiet between words. That's where the real portrait lives.
I work with individuals, couples, families — and the animals that complete them. I shoot photo and video, and I believe the best stories are told when nobody's trying too hard.
When I'm not behind the camera I'm running through Berlin, reading, or being very firmly ignored by my husky Dexter.
how it started
It all started almost as a joke — but isn't that how the best things begin? The ones we truly burn for?
Over 15 years ago I bought my first camera — a Pentax *ist DL. It sparked something. I started roaming the streets of Sofia, capturing whatever caught my eye. Soon after I landed an internship at one of Bulgaria's largest newspapers — concert photography, event coverage, seeing my photos published the next day. A high school student living a dream she didn't even know she had.
That's when I knew. Photography wasn't something I did — it was something I was.
I still own that Pentax. It sits in a cabinet, probably covered in dust. But I could never let it go.
